Nine days ago, my house was hit by lightning which took out my HVAC. At some point, my old refrigerator failed. This may or may not have been related to the lightning. I now have new, energy efficient central heat and air system, a new energy star refrigerator, and, just to be thorough, made an appointment to have my attic properly insulated next week. This afternoon, I learned that I was correct in assessing that I need a new roof. I have to get in line for my fabulous and very fair roofer, so by the end of another six weeks, I'll have a new roof with a nice venting system. As a result of this visit by Thor (Did you know that lightning is five times hotter than the surface of the sun?), I'm suddenly on a major home improvement tear! What the hell. Considering my electric bills over the last year, this is truly a blessing.

As far as watercolor goes, I think I mention somewhere that I've been fussing over my palette. I'm happy to write that I have finally settled on a slightly revised set of colors that I'm really pleased with. Have been playing with larger sizes. Frankly, I'm a bit tired of making tiny paintings (at least for the moment). I'll show and tell with some new examples soon. I've been in transition for a while now. These things don't happen overnight.

Life is such an adventure!

Suzanne. Good to hear from you. Sorry about your troubles. Am interested in this phase of change and look forward to seeing the birth of it. Namaste.

Troubles? No troubles! Just life unfolding. It's been a very interesting (and sometimes, fun)week or so. No new birth involved in the change just further development.

Your life sure unfolds very dramatically without your helping it....burglars, lightning....yikes. Glad you're such an optimistic person and great artist.

Sorry to hear about your lightning problems. Your paintings still look great. I like the wet-on-wet effects in them. Hang in there and keep painting to keep your peace of mind.

I know, Sandy! I think it's funny, though. I don't have to go far afield to find drama. Well, some people watch soap operas. I just wake up to see what happens next. Should I tell you that my TV died on Saturday and my laptop battery on Sunday? I really have to laugh and consider this Zen training. Of some sort!

Beautiful! What a sparkling, energetic painting. It shows that the issue of "energy" is on your mind - and in your life. Good luck with it all. And how wonderful that you see this as an opportunity rather than as a series of bad luck visitations.

Wow - what a rough couple of weeks you've had. It sounds like its all for the best, though. I love the way you've translated your emotions into this fiery watercolor. We've been missing you - I'm glad you have time to post (and paint) again!
