Recently, I've been thinking a lot about Abraham Maslow and his hierarchy of needs . That's because I've been working on the Safety Needs level which has effected all my higher levels of needs, as evidenced by my long absence here.
However, as Maslow said "A musician must make music, an artist must paint, a poet must write, if he is to be ultimately at peace with himself."
At some point during this absence, my hard disc crashed. While it took a week or so to replace the drive and reconstruct my applications, the effects of the interruption lasted a bit longer.
I'm so grateful for all of your emails and comments during this interim. I love you all dearly and truly appreciate this community.
I feel that this long series may have reached a conclusion, or a conclusion of sorts, though I can't say for sure. I feel that some new expression is percolating below the surface but have not had the mental relaxation space to allow it to come forth. It may take some time as these developments are not things we can force. These developments can also be quite subtle, with incremental changes only noticeable in retrospect.
In the meanwhile, I'll do my best to wet my paints on a daily basis, stick with the Landscape into Art theme for now and post what may be worthwhile.

It's so good to have you back Suzanne, and this wonderful light-filled piece. It is often during times of stress and insecurity where new things percolate - hope you'll have the freedom soon to explore them.
Hello, Cathy. Thanks for your sweet remarks - I'm glad to be reconnecting.
So wonderful to check and find a sweet Easter treat from you, Suzanne! Glad to have you back. I like how you talk about percolating things that will bubble to the surface, and will be waiting for those. Sorry about the hard drive crash :( ugh!!! Hope spring brings you much growth and sunlight and most of all, peace and safety! BTW, the painting is lovely and stands as a sign of Easter and of your return to blogging again.
Hello, dear Rhonda! Am glad to be back and appreciate your comments. Will see you over at your place soon!

Thanks, Leisa. Good to hear from you.

Just happened to check your site and am so glad that I did! 'Risen' is an inspiration...both for the season and for my own painting as well as for writing thoughts of joy. Thanks for sharing and keep them coming!

Sandy! Thank you, my dear.
This is a very nice painting. I like everything about it.
Symbolism on symbolism--all with the perfect touch: it's great to have you back and this painting, with it's glowing light radiating from the center, does speak of rebirth and renewal.
How wonderful to be able to come back for a fix of color again! Not seeing your posts has been like giving up chocolate for Lent when I was a child - yay, it's over!
The colors on this one are particularly lovely.
