Ha, ha, ha, ha.... You wouldn't believe how many times I think of a title with the word "dawn" in it and then have to think about your potential remark. Good one!

Your work is stunning. I've yet to see anything of yours that I don't like. Again, your colours and the light are beautiful.

Your paintings are a feast to my eyes, they are definitely full of joy. I wish I could be as prolific as you, with every painting a masterpiece - do you ever reject any of your watercolours?

Liz,

I'm going to print your comment out and tack it up where I can read it every time I have doubts about a painting I post. Thank you! I mean it!

Thanks, Dianne!

Maybe I'll take a photo of the big bag of rejects in my shed (I can use them for a future paper maché project, right?) or the pile of rejects in the basket beside my drafting table (I can use the backs for color studies), or the pile of "I kind of like looking at this but I don't think it's much of a painting" rejects. I also have a small pile of paintings in this series that I like but have never posted.

I have so many rejects, I need a filing system for them! But it took me until just the past year to become really comfortable with tossing paintings aside after working on them at length.

Love this one Suzanne- especially the movement in the sky. You have a gift for suggesting elements in the landscape with a minimum of form and maximum color saturation. A very distinctive watercolor style.

Suzanne McDermott said...

Thank you, Deborah. I consider what you say a high compliment, especially coming from you.

this watercolor is juicy and delicious! I love the contrasting hard and soft edges in the sky.

Suzanne McDermott said...

Thanks, Hillary. Great to hear from you and Happy Hanukkah!

Another beauty. I like the heavenward slant to the clouds.

Suzanne McDermott said...

Thank you, Caren! You and your horses are probably going to have a White Christmas! Enjoy it.

It's so nice to think the world is now a brighter place--thanks for the reminder! ;-)
Happy Holidays, and thank you for all the inspiration your paintings and your engagementprovide!

Hi Suzanne!
I love your latest works a lot - there's so much happening in them, and yet they are "only" landscapes!
Bravo!

Suzanne McDermott said...

Thanks, Laura! I appreciate your comments, your appreciation and, though it's my pleasure, all the inspiration I provide is purely inadvertent!

Suzanne McDermott said...

Hi Werner!! I'm so glad you came by and that you like my recent paintings. It's great to hear from you.
